Advisory regarding fake job offers in the Netherlands

Instances of offering of fake jobs by a non-existent company called ‘Agronatures’, allegedly

from the Netherlands, have come to our notice recently. The fraudulent email communication

seeks the recruitment of Indian manpower in the hypermarkets, agriculture farms and restaurants

in the Netherlands. The email includes various job positions in their shipyard oil & gas division,

safety hospital division, shipyard construction division and shipyard catering & restaurants division.

If you’ve received an email or any communication regarding similar suspicious company with fake

credentials, it is crucial to be cautious.

Prospective overseas job seekers are advised to:

1. Verify Credentials: Try to independently verify the company’s credentials. Check for

official registration, reviews, and any legitimate online presence.

2. Report to Authorities: Inform relevant authorities in your country and, if applicable, in

the foreign nation where the fake company claims to operate. They may be able to

investigate and take necessary actions.

3. Do Not Share Personal Information: Avoid providing any personal or financial

information to the suspicious company. This could be a phishing attempt to steal your

identity or money.

4. Spread Awareness: Warn others in your community or network about the potential

scam. Sharing information can prevent more people from falling victim to similar schemes.

5. Stay Informed: Keep yourself updated on common scam tactics and learn how to spot

red flags in emails, websites, and other forms of communication.

6. Seek Legal Advice: If you’ve already engaged with the company or suspect that you’ve

been defrauded, consider seeking legal advice to understand your rights and options for

recourse.

7. Always verify information through the eMigrate portal

(https://www.emigrate.gov.in/#/emigrate) & contact the Indian Missions or Protector of

Emigrant (PoE) office for any assistance or help required.

Therefore, Indian nationals are advised not to get entrapped in such fake job offers being

floated through emails, social media platforms or other sources. Before travelling on tourist/visit

visa for employment purposes, Indian nationals are advised to check/verify the credentials of

foreign employers through concerned Missions abroad, the antecedents of recruiting agents, as

well as that of the hiring company, before taking up any job offer.
